Michiel Wijnen studied Industrial Design Engineering at the Delft University of Technology. Although educated in Industrial Design he always had a deep-rooted affinity for Interior, Furniture and Lighting Design. Working with the world´s most prominent brands as Designer and Design Director for Edwardvanvliet®, he contributed to build this studio to become a leading name in the fields of Furniture, Lighting and Hospitality Design, before opening his own studio in 2017.

Studio Michiel Wijnen® is a design studio with a focus on Hospitality and high-end Residential Design, based in the Amsterdam area, The Netherlands. The multidisciplinary and collaborative studio creates concepts in close dialogue with its clients, capturing the core essence.

The studio designs interiors for both commercial and private clients. We design and guide the entire process from concept through to realization. Our spatial layouts are defined by an architectural way of thinking, while our bespoke designs reveal the perspective of a product designer.
Project coordination and creative direction ensure our involvement up to a satisfying completion. Depending on the scale of the project or the client’s wishes, this can be complemented by an external project manager and/or construction supervisor. Alongside the design process, we assemble a team of specialists and potential execution partners, based on the underlying needs of each project.
