Nazka Sabor Peruano, Amsterdam
Studio Michiel Wijnen x Meeder Ontwerpers - Nazka Sabor Peruano, Amsterdam, 2019
NAZKA underwent a full interior transformation, reimagining the space as a contemporary expression of Peruvian culture. Rooted in the concept of Sabor de la Vida, the project embraces the joy of sharing, transforming the restaurant into a vibrant yet sophisticated setting for connection. Clean lines establish architectural clarity, while expressive hues introduce rhythm, warmth, and a strong cultural identity.
At NAZKA, design and cuisine converge in a refined celebration of life.

Colour as Identity
Handcrafted by PET Lamp, each pendant tells a story of reuse, craftsmanship, and cultural heritage. Woven using traditional techniques, the lamps create a warm and inviting glow while adding texture, character, and a human touch to the space.
Textured Energy
Textured surfaces and bold chromatic accents in red, blue, and teal bring a confident, layered energy to the restaurant, expressing colour through material depth and variation. In the bar area, custom teal tiling introduces a strong horizontal rhythm and subtle three-dimensionality, forming a tactile backdrop for the space.
A key feature is the Nazka screen, developed specifically for the project in collaboration with Aectual. Inspired by pre-Columbian patterns, the system consists of a dynamic rectangular grid with adjustable diagonal louvers, allowing light to be precisely modulated. Fully open or closed, it functions both as an architectural element and a graphic layer within the interior.
