Studio Michiel Wijnen x Marc de Groot Design - Private Residence, Amsterdam, 2021
High-end Amsterdam loft, as fruit of an excellent collaboration with Amsterdam based designer Marc de Groot. The exterior is part of Berlage´s urban expansion plan - Plan Zuid. All of the existing interior has been completely stripped, leaving a blank canvas to create an authentic luxury environment. A complete interior design, created in close dialogue with the client. All joinery, cabinets and kitchen were custom designed.
A Shared Vision
This project is the result of a collaboration with Marc de Groot, combining complementary approaches into a cohesive spatial vision.
Spatial Layers
The apartment unfolds as a sequence of layered environments. Custom wooden partitions act as filters rather than walls, shaping a fluid yet articulated layout. Private spaces bedroom and bathroom are concealed within these volumes, while a pivot door marks the transition between the main living areas
