Nazka Screen
Studio Michiel Wijnen x Meeder Ontwerpers - Nazka screen for Aectual, 2021
Originally designed for Amsterdam hotspot Nazka, the Nazka Screen is freely inspired by pre-Columbian patterns. The dynamic rectangular grid with alternating diagonal panes fully opens and closes, allowing you to control how light enters the space while creating layered privacy. The 3D-printed structure is made of Bio Polyamide based on plant oils 100% VOC-free, 100% Red List free, 100% circular. Available both as a stand-alone consumer product and as a customizable architectural system.
The following projects feature the Nazka Screen as part of curated interior environments. Spatial design by respective designers.
@ DDW 2021, Salone del Mobile 2022, GLUE 2022, VT Wonen & Design Beurs 2022, Orgatec 2022, Salone del Mobile 2026.
Interview with Aectual about the Nazka Screen
Nazka Screen
3D-printed bio-based panels by Studio Michiel Wijnen x Meeder Ontwerpers, developed in collaboration with Aectual, explore the delicate balance between light, privacy, and spatial perception through dynamic, semi-transparent patterns. The system combines digital fabrication with sustainable materials, resulting in a flexible architectural layer that adapts to different spatial needs while maintaining a strong visual identity.
Over the years, Nazka Screens have been installed in a variety of iconic spaces, bringing a sustainable and sculptural quality that merges architectural function with refined visual expression.
